Big news from Tri-State Training, LLC! Beginning January 1, 2027, we are adding virtual reality training to our list of services.

We are using the Meta Quest 3 headset with the Ace virtual shooting game. Ace is a realistic shooting experience, and we are adding it as a training aid for our students and private lesson clients.

Your instructor is using cutting edge technology to prepare for his competitions and to better assist student shooters. I have been practicing with the system myself, sharpening my skills for Shoot Sig and Steel Challenge. I’m also learning how it can best be used to help you. I want to understand the tool firsthand before I put it in your hands.

Why add virtual reality? Good shooting comes down to fundamentals: grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control, and smooth, safe handling. Those skills take repetition to build, and the headset gives us a new way to practice them. It can also help with the skills that matter in competition, such as transitions, speed, and accuracy under pressure. Whether you compete or just want to become a more confident and capable shooter, this gives you more practice time with immediate feedback.

To be clear, virtual reality is a training aid and not a replacement for live-fire instruction. It adds to our in-person training and does not replace it. Safe gun handling, sound fundamentals, and hands-on coaching remain the foundation of everything we teach.
