What is the Maryland Wear and Carry Permit?
A Maryland Wear and Carry permit (also known as a Maryland Concealed Carry Permit) allows qualified individuals to legally carry a handgun in public spaces throughout the state.
To qualify, applicants must complete 16 hours of instruction from a Maryland State Police Qualified Handgun Instructor and demonstrate firearm proficiency on the range.

Course Requirements & Application Checklist
To complete your Maryland Wear and Carry application process, you will need:
1. Completion of this 16-hour certified training course.
2. Official score sheet (MSP 29-14) provided upon passing the range qualification.
3. Electronic LiveScan fingerprints (not included in the class fees.)
4. Passport-style photo.
5. Submission via the Maryland State Police Licensing Portal.
